I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
